Preludes and Encores League originated as the San Jose Symphony Auxiliary, which mounted 26 highly successful Designers' Showcase houses over the years. It is now an independent all-volunteer group dedicated to supporting classical music in the South Bay. Because of Jack and Jean Blackwell's long devotion to the symphony, their family generously offered the family home to Symphony Silicon Valley for a Designers' Showcase, organized and presented by the experienced volunteers of Preludes and Encores League. Proceeds from Showcase 2006 will be donated to Symphony Silicon Valley to support its artistic and educational programs. The house will be put up for sale following Showcase 2006.

Preludes and Encores League is proud to present this beautifully updated 1960's colonial home located on 2.5 acres near La Hacienda Inn in Saratoga. Nineteen of the Bay Area's finest interior and landscape designers will work their magic to decorate over 6,000 square feet of living area, separate guest house, and wine cellar, and to enhance the magnificent patio, pool, gazebo and garden area of this estate. A Gift Gallery will include garden ornaments, hand-crafted jewelry, and gourmet food items.
