Biography

Bethany Zare, horn

Bethany Zare has played French Horn since the age of ten. She grew up in the Bay Area and was a graduate of the San Jose Youth Orchestra. She got her Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from the University of Southern California. She played principal horn in Mexico for eight years with the Sinfonica Nacional and the UNAM orchestras. In 1995 she returned to the Bay Area to play with the San Jose Symphony. She is currently a member of Symphony Silicon Valley and Ballet San Jose and plays frequently with Opera San Jose. Last year, while on leave, she served as Director of Operations with Symphony Silicon Valley. This year she returns to the stage as second horn.
