Giampaolo Maria Bisanti

Born in Milan, the outstanding young Italian conductor Giampaolo Maria Bisanti studied clarinet, piano, composing and conducting at the Music Conservatory “G.Verdi” in Milan, followed by the “Accademia Musicale Internazionale” in Pescara as well as some important master classes with Maestro Donato Renzetti in Milan and Benjamin Zander in Boston.

He was awarded the Second Prize (1st not awarded) at the “Dimitris Mitropoulos International Competition for Conducting” in Athens, the First Prize at the “Franco Capuana International Competition” in Spoleto and the 5th Prize and Special Prize of the Jury at the “J. Ferencsik Competition” in Budapest.

After training under the supervision of the grand russian Maestro Juri Ahronovitch at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena and obtaining the Diploma of Honour, he began his international career at a very young age conducting in most of the major italian opera houses and concert halls, appearing with many eminent instrumentalists, worldwide known singers and directors. His international appearances include prestigious venues in the USA, Switzerland, Israel, Japan, Greece, South America, Germany and Hungary and several orchestras as:

Basel Sinfonie Orchester, Kyoto Festival Symphony Orchestra, Sofia Orchestra, Sanremo Symphony Orchestra, Budapest-Radio TV and Matav Orchestra, Danubia Symphony Orchestra, Athens Orchestra of Colours, Concerto Boswil, Orchestra “I Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano”, Orchestra Milano Classica, Orchestra Sinfonica di Ferrara, Orchestra Teatro Lirico di Spoleto, Orchestra Filarmonia Veneta “G.F. Malipiero”, Orchestra “G. In 2007 the great debut with the Israel Philarmonic Orchestra and La Bohème in Tel Aviv. Invited by Zubin Metha, his performances were a great success with repeated ovations of the audience as well as extraordinary reviews of the the Israeli Press.

Other noteworthy engagements abroad took place in the USA leading the Monterey Symphony Orchestra and the Symphony Silicon Valley in California.The American critics announced: “Bisanti shines in US debut. America, good news! An exciting new conductor has just set foot on our continent”.
In 2008 he directed the Israel Philarmonic Orchestra in La Bohème in Tel Aviv, one of the most important orchestra in the world. He obtained a big success with a praise of all the orchestra, repeated ovations of the extraordinary public and book review of the Israelian press.
Recent remarkable highlights include: Orphée and Euridice by Gluck at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna featuring Roberto Alagna, Carmina Burana and a memorable recital with Mariella Devia at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova, the Auditorium Toscanini in Torino leading the RAI National Symphony Orchestra and the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome.
From 2008 to 2011 he has conducted in Ravenna (Il Trittico by G.Puccini;Ernani by G.Verdi), in Palermo (Manon Lescaut by G.Puccini), in Naples (La Traviata by G.Verdi), in Venice (La Boheme by G.Puccini), in Florence (La Boheme), in Genova (Carmina Burana and one recital starring Mariella Devia), Fondazione Spontini Pergolesi in Jesi (Tosca, Rigoletto, Traviata and Barbiere di Siviglia), Fondazione Toscanini in Piacenza and Modena (Ernani) as well as numerous concerts with prestigious orchestras as: Haydn Orchester in Bozen, Orchestra Regionale Toscana in Florence,  Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan, Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, RAI Symphony Orchestra in Turin, Orchestra del Teatro San Carlo in Naples and Orchestra del Carlo Felice in Genova.

His discography includes a CD with the Soloists of the Teatro Alla Scala (Stravinskij) and a DVD of Gluck's Orphée and Euridice recorded in Bologna and issued in 2010 by Bel Air Classiques label.
