Sing with the Chorale for the 2008-2009 Season

Sing glorious music with our professional symphony in San Jose's beautiful California Theatre!   The 2008-2009 season includes Fauré's Requiem and other works condoucted by Vance George, Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass conducted by Maestra Jane Glover with Symphony Silicon Valley, Glenn McClure's St. Francis in the Americas - A Caribbean Mass as the centerpiece of our holiday concert of classics and carols- Carols in the California. 

To schedule an audition, please contact Elena Sharkova, Artistic Director and Conductor, at esharkova@symphonysiliconvalley.org  Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings from 7 to 10 pm, beginning August 26, 2008.

Interested singers must demonstrate substantial vocal training, advanced sight-singing skills and foreign-language skills, excellent musicianship, and a willingness and availability to commit to the rehearsal schedule and concert engagements.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

(accompanist will be provided):

a) One prepared solo piece that demonstrates your vocal capabilities (aria or art song). Please bring a score for the accompanist.

b) Vocal range testing.

c) Aural and sight reading skills testing: 16 measure sight-reading test (tonal) and 7 short tonal memory tests.
