Disney's FANTASIA Live in Concert
Saturday 8:00 pm February 14, 2015
Sunday 2:30 pm February 15, 2015

This February, Disney shares one of its crown jewels of feature animation with Symphony Silicon Valley, accompanying scenes from Walt Disney's original FANTASIA (1940) and FANTASIA 2000, highlighting selections of the magnificent repertoire including Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker Suite, Mickey Mouse dabbling in magic in Dukas' The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, and the mythical unicorns and winged horses that accompany Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony, all shown in high definition on the big screen. FantasiaSSV.org

"Fantasia…remind[s] us of the emotional storytelling power of classical music and the wide spectrum of beauty and characters that animation can provide…If you have kids that haven’t yet experienced the wonder of Fantasia and Fantasia 2000, I would highly recommend introducing them to it in this ideal setting, with the music heard as it was meant to be- live."
—Spinningplatters.com

"The Disney cartoons of 1940’s revolutionary Fantasia played in brilliant, restored, high-definition color alongside clips from Fantasia 2000..."
—Broadwayworld.com

"All in all, this is a program that should be offered with great regularity, rather than as a special event."
—San Francisco Classical Voice
